Oasis by BorderLensSW
Ranch House Gallery Exhibit, August 26 – October 4, 2026
When we think of the word “oasis”, a vast desert comes to mind, punctuated by a pond surrounded by stands of palm trees.
But an oasis can be so much more. In the broader sense, it is a place of refuge, refuge from loneliness, from darkness, from chaos, from ignorance. It is respite from sorrow. It is a place of beauty in a turbulent city, a playground or a child, a library’s rich offering for the mind. Oases protect and nourish. They may be very public or very personal. Fundamentally, they bring peace and serenity. Indeed, they may be the very people we cherish, the lives we choose to lead.
Members of BorderLensSW offer images of what oases mean to them.
